och det är mig och min design- fyllda vardag ni får följa här i bloggen. Jag går just nu första året i Grafisk designlinjen på Berghs och går ut våren 2013. Jag älskar att få vara kreativ och det yttrar sig oftast i illustrationer, skisser, pyssel, kreationer och lite allt möjligt. Hoppas ni uppskattar bloggen och det jag gör!

dear caty, may i ask you why youve been studying graphic design? dont you thought / think that its a very very superficial business? what do you love and what do you hate about it? would you recommend it and how about finding a job and having a safe future with it?

Well, I first started studying ”art” back in highschool, mainly because I didnt know what I wanted to do in life so I went with what I knew I was good at. Eversince Ive liked drawing and designing more and more, so a year after highscool I entered a ”graphic design” school but it was mainly focused on print.
I left that school and started drawing digitally on my own. I guess its a superficial business, since its all about design and estetics, but I do it because i love it. Its like any other craft where you create stuff, some people create furniture, some design clothes, i do illustrations and graphics :].
What I love is that I get to be creative and create ideas that are in my head into actuall images. Working as a graphic designer can be very challenging but its also extremely satisfying once you manage to create something you like. There’s not much I dont like about it :].
I would definately recomend it. My belief is that all people should strive to work with what they are interested in. Everyone have special interests and abilitys. If you work hard and focus on being the best you can be within one field you’ll eventually become a specialist, and a specialist is of high interest in any field.
As it is now Im working in a business of my own with 4 friends so i cant really say how the ”market” for graphic designers is really. Im sure its hard for freelancers to get enough work each month to have a ”safe future”, but there are so many aspects within design that you could work with. Im sure theres several different workplaces out there that would suit people interested in graphic design.
