Hey peeps!  Today I had the day off and knowing I’d have a bunch of free time I thought I could sew something, at last! I allready had the sewingmachine out from when I adjusted a pair of jeans I had bought, and I took out the few fabrics I have left but I couldnt come up with an idea of what to do with it all. :/ I wanted to try doing some patchwork but the fabrics I have are way to boring, they’re all dark, blakck and grey. It should be colourful and with awesome patterns! <3 .. I just need the fabric.

So I started browsing around on a fabric site I found a couple of years ago, Stoffochstil. They always have such cute and fun patterned fabric. Once I know exactly what ‘d like to sew I’ll definately buy some funky fabrics.

Wieners are taking over

Wiener-dogs that is ^^.

A few days ago the IKEA-catalogue droped down through my mailbox. I hardly ever buy stuff from ikea but I like flipping through it to watch all of the beautiful interior design. I had Lula lying next to me in bed when I suddenly see a Lula-clone there in the magazine ^^. Another black wiener dog!

I love wiener dogs, and I’ve been seeing them more and more lately. When we first got Lula, about 10½ years ago I hardly ever saw wiener dogs on the streets. Now I see them alot, but usually I see the other wienerdog-kinds, the long haired ones, the ones with the beard-like hair texture, and usually brown ones. Lula is a short- haired, black midget-wienerdog, with smooth hair. The prettiest kind in my opinion :].

Eventhough the wienerdog in the catalouge seems to be the exact same race as Lula, I always  think Lula has a special appearance. To me she has more soulful eyes than other dogs, kinder and sweeter eyes. Probably because I’ve learned to understand her expressions :]. <3

How OCD works, Part1

If you read the post ”Awesome blog award” you might have read one of my facts where I explain that I have the diagnose ”obsessive complusive disorder”. In Swedish it’s called Tvångssyndrom. I recently read that 2% of the population have ocd, and since i’ve been struggling with it alot lately I wanted to write a post about it.

To explain it simply: Sometimes my brain gets stuck on very unpleasant thoughts and I have a problem getting them out of my mind. Except just getting ”stuck” on the unpleasant thought my mind also likes to question and challenge me alot. It tells me the opposite of what I feel and want.

The problems this causes is that I some days can spend hours trying to fight away unpleasant thoughts, causing me alot of anxiety and stress. Imagine one thing that you loove, and think ”I love _ _ _ _” . Now imagine you getting an impulsive thought telling you ”Are you sure you do?”, ”I dont think you do..”.
Your reaction would be: ”..eeuhm, yeah I do”, but your mind keeps going, ”euhm, no you dont”. See the problematics? :] Well, to explain more on how the OCD might work I tried doing it in the best way i know, through sketches :].

Keiko had for the last 2 months been dating a girl from his class called Mira..

One day when they went out for a walk an ugly monster planted a horrible thought in Keikos mind..

Keiko didnt know what to do of this thought, how can you differentiate different types of joy?.. :/

Keiko started thinking that the ugly monster might be right.. but he certainly didnt want it to be true..

Keiko started thinking that maybe their common interests really werent enough for a relationship..

The ugly monster had succeeded to manipulate Keikos perception to the extent were Keiko wasnt sure about anything anymore

Ofcourse Mira didnt look like that at all, but Keiko just couldnt see her the way he used to anymore

Feeling confused and sadened Keiko couldnt bare to face Mira. The situation had changed, nothing felt right anymore.

Afterwork shopping

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing good :]

I’m on my lunchbreak right now, I actually brought a little lunch meal of my own today. I usually dont feel like cooking food when I get home after work. I usually just eat a snack on the evening, but I should make my own lunch more often. Its much cheaper >_<.

I’m thinking I’ll might head over to Kreatima after work too and use the money I have left on my gift card. I got it from my boyfriend on my birthday :], awesome gift. I’ll probably buy some more fabercastle pencils with a thinner brushtip, and a pad with glossy paper.. and perhaps colorpencils too if I I’d still have money left ^^.

Catynettes

Goodmorning people ^^

Yesterday as I was going through old photos of drawings I found these illustrations I made about a year ago. Yet another example of how my style shifts. During the time I made these  I was very inspired by Fafi’s ”Fafinettes” and so created my own girl-characters. Some sort of ”catynettes” i guess ^^. These drawings were made in photoshop with added texture on top of the images to make it look a little more rugged and organic.

Different phases and inspirations

Lately I’ve been super inspired by alot of new blogs I’ve found. I can really relate to their style, which some times can feel bad because when you see some one do exactly what you have wanted to do, or try, you feel a bit like a copy cat :/. You’re no longer the genious who came up with it :D. But i guess that’s how inspiration works, you find something you like and try to incorporate it in your own art. As long as you add your own thing to it you’re not a copycat. I keep telling myself this >_<.

Whats been interesting now is that I’ve been inspired by alot of different styles, media-wise. Some draw sketchy images with only feltpens (tuschpennor), others mix alot of stuff like spraypaint, acrylics, markers in more of a streetart style… It was really inspiring to see. I love both styles and definately want to try it out. I’ve been drawing digitally so much these last years, but it would be fun to go back to paper and canvases.. Ih, so little time tho. I’d rather focus on one single style and get awesome at it but there’s so much inspiration everywhere! I’ts impossible not to try out new stuff.

I’ve been through many different phases throughout my life, however people usually say that they always see that it’s ”my style” which is nice to hear :].

Here are some stuff that I did about 2-3 years ago which are very different (style-and media-wise) from what I do now a days.

Heey everyone!

A couple of days ago I got a ”Beautiful Blogger Award” from a cute blogger called Tsukii, I felt very honored ^^, thank you!

I was really happy to get the award and loved the concept of it, however, I dont understand what ”beautiful blogger” means. Is it for beautiful people? beautiful blogs? what about the content? And on top of that, I found the award-image a bit blurry :D.

1. I have the cutest little wienerdog named Lula, she’s turning 11 years old this year. I’m allready mentally preparing for when she’ll no longer be with me <3. She’s healthy tho so no worries ^^.

2. My thumb is more flexible than most peoples thumbs, I can flex it into a 90 degrees angle (this gives me +1 points on my awesome-scale).

3. Me and my boyfriend have been together for 5 years, we’ve been together since I turned 17 :].

4. I like to sing. I do it when I cook, when I’m in the shower, when I’m alone. I used to be pretty good at it but nowadays I even suprise myself with my out-of-tune voice :/.

5. I have a disorder called OCD, in swedish it’s called ”tvångssyndrom”. My minds sometimes gets stuck on unpleasant thoughts that I can’t get out of my head. This can make me feel very uncomfterbul, anxious and nervous at times. But I play it keewl.. despite those times when I freak out :D. well well..

6. The only game I play on playstation is ”Monsters”, a pixel tower-defense game thats extremely addictive. Just writing about it makes me want to play >_<.

7. I used to rap :D. This isnt a joke. From when I was 15-16 I had a serious hip hop phase and I got interested in raping. For one christmas I wished to get a mixer table and a microphone. I did several songs but when I was about 17 i was so embarassed by them that I erased them all :(. I wish I didnt, some were pretty cool and others would atleast have been fun to listen to ^^.

Oh illustrator, why so complicated?

Dear Illustrator, why do you have to be so damn complicated? <:/

Im at the office right now (looking a bit compressed and annoyed :D) because I just faced the issue of creating multiple -page PDF’s in illustrator. For some reason illustrator makes you go into ”File > Print” to make this adjustment where you have to set tiling options and then tile all of your pages in one single document blah blah. Very confusing and not optimal at all. I hate illustrator :’(.

At first I hated it because it was in my nature to try to navigate it as if it was photoshop wich doesnt work in illustrator at all. That presumption was definately my own fault, but now the more I use it I realize that there’s so many complicated weird stuff that is totally caused by their stupid navigation. Using a program shouldnt be so difficult to understand. I do however need it for creating pdfs and to start drawing vector based illustrations.. so I keep learning. Babysteps… babysteps…

Belen 2 years old

This saturday my little cousin Belen turned 2 years old <3. Here are some photos of her and the gifts we bought her.

This photo below is of her on her birthday, wearing the same dress she wore on her 1st birthday, looking like a little princess.  Btw, I love the little yellow Pippi Longstocking house that’s in the background. I wish I could be 2 years old all over again :/

As you can see it was Hello Kitty themed, my job was to draw Kitty on the whiteboard, and so i did. Btw, My hair looks really black on the photos but its just because of the color adjustments I made in photoshop, my hair is actually quite light brown. I like how it looks in the photos tho :]
