Hello there!

Here’s the Junkyard design I finnished during the night between monday and tuesday. I fell asleep about 05:00 that night, but it was well worth it! I’m really happy with the end result of it all. My biggest problem in the beginning was coming up with a nice colorcombination and making the actuall shape of the print fit the Tee, but it worked out :].

On this Friday, the 30th of April, they are announcing who the winner is. It would be reeally fun If I won but I’m definately not excpecting it. Im trying to keep my hopes down, I’ve made the misstake before of having way to high hopes and then get really bummed out when It doesnt work out as I’ve hoped. :/ If I dont win I atleast have a cool design in my portfolio!

Material love

Yesterday i stumbled upon this pink Adidas sweatshirt on an auctionsite. If you’ve read my previous posts you know i’ve been obsessed with Adidas lately. Theres something very nostalgic and old school about it, I love it ^^. Fortunately this sweatshirt was being sold for a really low price, it was an awesome bargain. :]

I havent got it sent to me yet tho so I’m anxiously waiting, hoping it will fit me well!

A not so good day

Hello peoplez :]

Hope you’ve had a nice day, mine has been  pretty wack. I just went to do some laundry and saw a sign on the elevator that kind of summed up how I was feeling: like the guy in the first image.

I’ts quite a weird warning sign ^^. How likely is it for someone to be squashed like this while using the elevator? Sadly enough it can’t be that rare, since they’ve put this sticker on every elevator in my neighbourhood.

Oh well, on to more fun things now. I have some work I want to do this evening, and then also my print-design I want to finnish tonight :].

Inspiration

When designing I always go through different inspiration phases. Right now I’m in a 80-90′s hip hop phase , loving the music, the streets and the colorful and funky clothes. :D

Working on my design

As I mentioned in a previous post there’s a swedish street clothing store called ”Junkyard” that’s holding a design contest that I will be entering. The challenge is to create a T-shirt print that has the ”junkyard” vibe. The winner gets a gift card to their store and also get royalties on every shirt sold. I really want to win this one :/.

I’ve been designing all day today and all day yesterday. I might be able to finish it tonight some time. I have until 27th of April to send it in so I do have some time left.

The image above is just a croped preview on what I’m working on. I’ll reveal the entire design once its done :]. Right now I’m adding all of the small details and trying to fix tohse parts that arent working just right yet. I want to be able to look at it and think – ”YES! I’ve reached perfection! Muahaha”  So.. there’s some work left ^^.

UPDATE: It’s 23:56 and I havent gotten very far. Got stuck on watching silly tv-series… Oh well, I’ll stop for today and make sure I finish it tomorrow, it has to get done tomorrow. I dont want to take the chance of sending it in on the 27th (the last day).

Got my hair did

Today I finally went to get my hair cut!

I always wish to have long hair but now that I had it the longest I’ve ever had it I just didnt know what to do with it. Long hair sounds glamorous but its really just annoying. It had to go. I feel alot lighter now too. From now on I’ll stop wishing I had longer hair, been there, done that.

April walk

Today I brought my camera with me as I took a long walk with Lulis.

This summer I’ll be taking alot of looong walks with Lula, as you’ve seen she’s quite ”chubby” and now that the weathers clearing up it’s prefect timing to start draging her out and make her loose some weight. Fortunately with those short legs of her we dont need to walk thaat far to get her a good work out ^^.

Elvis the cat

This is my mother in law’s cat, Elvis. He looks alot sweeter than he actually is :D. He can be really sweet and cuddly at times, but sometimes when just passing by him you’ll se he’s tiny paw fly out of nowhere to claw your leg. And he doesnt let go. I definately prefer dogs , loyal trustworthy dogs ^^.

Project runway Finale

Today they’re airing the last episode of Project Runway season 7, the grand Finale! 3 designers will get to show of their collection that they’ve worked on for 3 months at New york Fashion week at Bryant Park, Im not saying who the designers are tho, since this season hasn’t aired in Sweden yet.

I think I’m pretty sure of who will win tho, there’s one candidate that stands out amongst them. I’ll have to wait and see later tonight :].

Using Actions in photoshop

This evening I’ve been playing around with some photos of mine, adjusting their colors and recording some combinations with the help of ”Actions”.

If you dont know how the feature ”Action” works, it basically allows you to record every editing-step you add to a photo. This action (consisting of many editing steps) is then saved, recorded, so that you can open any new photo and play the action on it too. This way you can add the same editing and adjustmentsettings to a bunch of different photos by just pressing ”play”.

This is a feature I discovered about a year ago but havent used very much yet, but it can be very usefull especially for blogging when you might have a bunch of pictures you want to post but dont have the time to edit each and every one of them.

I’ll might explain it more thoroughly in a new post later on, perhaps with images or video. Some type of tutorial for people who are new to photoshop :]

Breakdancing Horse

This is a gif I made a few weeks ago :D. I had made a few gif’s previously using photoshops ”animation” feature but this time I also tried adding a layer effect on the entire animation. It makes no sense but it was fun to do :D.

Sketching

I’ve just spent the last hours sketching on a design for a  t-shirt contest. The contest is being held by a swedish online clothing-store named Junk Yard. The task is to design a t-shirt print suited for ”Junk Yard”. Im not sure if it needs to contain their actuall name or not but I think I will add it. The winner  of the contest will recieve a gift card and they will also have the t-shirt sold in their store. One bonus on all of this is that you get royalties on every t-shirt sold, so its a very exciting and fun contest ^^.

I’m pretty happy with my idea and sketch for the print so the next step will be to create it in photoshop, or Illustrator. i’ll have to try and see.

Now I’ll go watch some Seinfeld before I fall asleep ^^. Nighty!

Some photoshop magic

Hello again!

I worked all night yesterday so today I’ve been able to be more flexible with my work hours. I woke up a little later than usuall and now Im writing a post a little later than usuall. The whole day has been delayed a couple of hours, but it feels goood ^^.

Today i thought I’d share some photoshop magic with you. Just showing you things you can do with photoshop. The first image for instance is an image I made for a post the day I left Kontain (the community where I used to blog). I wanted to show my departure in a visuall way and made a type of  ”collage”.

On the second image you can see the images that where used when creating the collage. When doing an image like this there’s alot of cutting, pasting, retouching, changing colors, brightness etc. Except adding the images I also added shadows, to give it a more realistic look, I added papers on the inside of the suitcase to illustrate that I’m taking my posts with me and finaly I added the silhouette of a blurry cat as if he is standing infront of the bag. Packing his bags :].

Btw, I love those pink heartshaped sunglasses , i’ll might get a pair once the sun decides to show it self. >_<
