Rise & shine

Good morning people!

Today I woke up with the sun, 5 minuits before my annoying alarm would have gone of. Niice ^^. I have loads of work to do today and Im hoping to get alot of stuff finished. I wouldn’t want to think about work during the Easter holidays so now I’m entering ultra-super-working-mode!

Oh, I just remembered that my hobby paint and cernit clay should be arriving today too, awesome ^^.

Adding ”add to any”

Hello again! Here comes a blog-update (an update regarding the blog i mean)^^

As you might know I launched ”iamcaty” for about two weekes ago so I’m still making changes and some fixes. Today’s update is that I am adding the plug in ”AddToAny”.

I’ve been thinking of ways to make it easier for you to save and share my posts and this little plug in made it alot easier for me.  Now you can directly save me to your bookmarks, add me to stumble upon, diggit, tweet about me and much more! Theres about a 100 of other things you can do actually, which for the moment is a bit too much I think. I will be editing down the options to just keep the most relevant ones. There shouldnt be more than 20 I think.

The default buttons they had to choose from clashed alot with the blog design when I first tried it so the one you are seing right now  is one I made myself. It looks alor more organic an blends in alot better with the rest of the blog. I will be trying to change the position of it later today too so the blog might look weird from time to time today ^^. Bare with me guys.. bare with me -_-

Tiny feet and little sleep

I’ve had a pretty slow day today. I went to bed way to late last night and its been a bad habit of mine the last couple of weeks actually. Its just that every night when I know I should be going to bed I start getting ideas on things I want to do and feel all creative so I stay up for just a liitle longer.. then I come up with a new thing so I stay up even a little longer.. and then a little longer and finally I fall aslep at 03:30 and only sleep a couple of hours before having to work again. Not good. :/

From now on I’ll try to go to bed alot earlier, atleast before 00:00 every day. (except weekends!)

Btw, the tiny feets are my wienerdogs Lulas paws, their actually quite big but her arms are like 10cm long or something. I should meassure her one day. ^^

Geek magnets

Good evening people!

Earlier today I got a ”special offer”-mail from a printing company called vistaprint. I get these ”special offers” about twice a week and I never look at them but this time I did. One thing that caught my eye was that they print magnets. Lately I’ve had an idea of wanting to print something pretty on magnets, i dont know why really but the thought of having pretty things on the fridge sounds cool and it’s both pretty and practical! So today I noticed that they had a special offer on magnets where I could load up a design and get 10 magnets for free. Awesome!

But ofcourse the magnets aren’t totally free, the shipping was quite expensive eventhough it was the cheapest choice (it would take 21days to get them) and then they added a ”photo uploading fee” too (?!) :D. What the hell? What is the running cost of photo uploadings? Seems like a pretty shady company but I took a leap. I bought 10 magnets with my geek-cat design and I’ll get them in about 21 days. Now I just hope that the quality will be good. It was atleast pretty cheap so it felt worth taking the risk, if I was ever to design a magnet this was my once in a lifetime shot! :D

Btw, the magnet in the photo isn’t real, I photoshoped it to give you an idea of how it would look on the fridge.

Dramatic Lula

Today I made Lulas own version of the popular video ”Dramatic look”. You have probably seen it on youtube, its a praire dog doing a sudden turn and giving a very dramatic look. Lula often has very expressive and dramatic looks too so I thought I’d give it a try. ^^

Changing to summer time

Tonight at 02:00 o’clock we in Sweden will be turning our clocks one hour ahead to enter ”summer time”. Loosing one hour of precious weekend time :(.

This is a photo I took this morning, as you can see there’s not much summer here yet. Maybe it magicaly happens at 02:00?  This will be the first time in a long time that I’m aware of the time change, I aways miss it and wake up really confused the day after ^^.

The blog now has a favicon!

A couple of days ago I got a nice e-mail from Matteo Ridolfi reminding me that I should get a Favicon, I had totally forgot about it while setting up the blog!

For you guys who aren’t familiar with the term ”Favicon”, it’s the little icon next to the adress bar in your browser.

At first when I was going to design it I just thought of doing a regular static image but once I saw the opportunity of animating it I couldn’t resist .I didn’t have any idea of how to make an animated ico at first but  fortunately I found the site www.favicon.cc that makes it very easy to make favicons, both static and animated.

I know several of you nice people have added me amongst your bookmarks allready, now you’ll hopefully be able to find me amongst all of them too ^^. If the cat isn’t enough for you to see that it’s my blog I’ve also made the cat spell it out for you :D.

Today I’ve been wearing my super cute Hello Kitty Sweatshirt!

When I bought it I did ask myself  ”..am I too old for this?”. But Im not, and never will be. I’ll still wear it when I’m 80  <3

New material to play with

Just bought some new material to play with.

On the first image you see the different glossy-hobbypaint colors I’ve bought and I also bought a white package of cernit clay. The cool thing with cernit clay is that when it dries it turns into hard plastic. This one is supposed to be boiled or something too, making it super hard. I’ve never tried it before but I thought it would be good try it out since the clay im using might be too fragile to use as pendants.

All work

Hi everyone! Just took a little break from work to write an entrie.. about work.  Hmm, not much of a break really. Anyhow, I’m working on some pretty fun stuff at the moment where Im trying  to explain a program through images, copy and a flash guide-intro. I will try to have all things done by next week some time.

I’ll show you once all of the new features are in place.  Untill then it remains a mystery. >_<

Playing Monsters

Tonight I’ve been spending my evening playing Monsters (by PixelJunk) on Playstation. It’s not the prettiest game but its addictive and fun. The first time i saw it I though it looked way too primitive but I’m starting to love it now. Its one of many creative and cool lower-budget games my boyfriend has bought of Playstation network.

Its perfect for someone like me who doesnt like bloody war games. I like my strategy games to be disguised with a cute exterior :D. In this game for example there’s a bunch of monsters trying to make their way to where my group of babies are. If I let one of them get to them one baby disapears and you get to see his soul fly up to the sky :D. How morbid wouldn”t that be if it was a realistic looking game? ^^

Clay pendants

Here are some pendants I’ve made with my self – hardening clay I got last christmas. I was thinking of painting them with acrylic colors and varnish (because those are things I allready have at home) but I’m doubting it would work.  I dont think it would give it that finnished look I want them to have so I’ll buy some  glossy hobby paint later today instead. I found some pretty cheap ones that seem good.

Back from a very inspiring meeting

I just came back from a super inspiring meeting with some of my colleagues at Cperspective. We drank tea, brainstormed a bunch of new and exciting ideas and by the end of it felt inspired and hopeful about the future. Its a great feeling.

I drew a sketch of the meeting while I was sitting on the bus on my way home. As you can see it was a very lively one. Can you guess wich one of the characters represent me? ^^
