A walk in the sun

I took these photos when I was out walking my dog Lula yesterday. Arent those first flowers weird?.. it looks like there’s tiny donuts on them ^^

There’s supposed to be up tp 30 degrees in stockholm this sunday (unbelievable!), hope the weathercast wasnt totally off as it usually is. Im gonna go on a small boattrip during the weekend so I hope ther will be enough sun to give me some skincolour and for the ocean to be not-too-cold enough for me to swim! ^^

Book sketches

Here are some sketches I drew when I first got the idea for the book. :]

the surfing cat wont be in this book tho :D, i’ll might use him for another story.

Later this week i’ll have to go and buy all the paper I need for printing it. I think i’ll want some shiny medium-hard paper. I have to find a smooth and thick cardboard like paper for the cover too.. hmm.

For you who dont know what the hell Im talking about ^^, I decided to make a book a few days ago. Its just a personal project, thought it would be cool to make a book from scratch and make it look real.

Ive got 2 drawings/pages done (except the colouring wich will be the last thing i do) so now theres about 10 pages left. It should be done within a month, unless summer vacations make me super lazy ^^.

Oh well, have a nice day people. And to all of the swedes again, go out in the sun!! you dont know when it might dissapear!

Here in sweden as soon as theres heat we know that unless we go out NOW we might not get any sun again during the whole year :D.

Making my own book

It’s been a while since my last post, Ive been very busy with work again but now as soon as Im free from all the to-dos I needed something to-do. Something fun and creative! And it hit me… Im gonna draw and create a book!

In school a year ago i learnt how to tie a book and do the cover and all of that so I would be able to create it from scratch. Then all i needed was a character and story for it. I couldnt come up with anything so I looked around the room and saw an old painting i made hanging on the wall of this very funky cat (the cat in the pictures). I painted it one day about 2 years ago when I was bored at home. I usually like drawing very detailed characters but sometimes its more fun to not think at all and just draw! To not think of proportions and shadow, to make these ugly-cute creatures ^^.

So inspired by the funky cat Im gonna use itas a character for my book. I dont want to call it a childrens book since It is’nt limited to any age but there will be big pretty pictures and a short story to it. I hope to get it done soon. I’ll sketch on it now during the weekend and can hopefully start making it some time next week.

Im so exited :D.

Fun with hair

Well, earlier today I shaved my boyfriends head and just when I was about to sweep the hair away I thought ”Oh! I could play with it!”. The thought of playing with hair might be gross to some of you, even my boyfriend thought it was freaky that I was playing with his cut of hair :D, but it didnt cross my mind that it was strange at all ^^.

Space monkey ninja!

I’ll explain it to you.. ^^

About a year ago my boyfriend was planning on making a blog for himself and he came up with the domain – spacemonkeyninja.com :D.

He probably figured that space is awesome, monkeys are dope and a monkey that also is a ninja would be even kooler.. hmm ”SPACEMONKEYNINJA! :0 ”. We were really excited over the name and made this sketch of what the site could look like, I just recently found this picture on my computer ^^. Unfortunately we never created the blog so this poor ninjamonkey still keeps spinning around in space, aimlessly, searching for a purpose in life…

New Bracelets

This last weekend I left the computer for a while to find some other ways to play.

The outcome: Two big bracelets.

I have plenty of beads but I always have a hard time settling for the bead combinations I use. ”these are to big to go with those”, ”those are the wrong color.. dont have enough of these ones..” but this time I just mashed them all together!

Im thinking of painting a watermelon on the darker bracelet, right on the square wooden bead. If I do i’ll give you an update later on. :]

Todays work

A couple of weekes ago I entered a blog community and started to play around with their css templates, designing and changing menus and so on. I had never worked with code before and understanding it now (at a beginners level) I start to see all of the possibilitys there are in designing sites. Ive never known the back end of webdesign very well before but this has really opened my eyes and has given me such an creative boost!

So to all of you rookies out there, rearanging code in blog templates is a great beginners-stage way of understanding how a site is built.

Here’s a new design Im playing around with. It’s all a big experiment testing what I can do with the things Ive learned. The part I’m showing you now will be the header. It’s still alot of work to it , texture, depth and many more details but this is what I’ve got so far! :D

Play with your food!

Making food the other day I started playing around with the rösti pieces on the frying pan. They were shaped like triangles so I got real excited :D, ”they can be put in so many combinations!”. It was like a puzzle. I know Im not supposed to play with food but I think my rösti kitty proves that sometimes we SHOULD play with our food.. ^^

*For those who dont know what rösti is its potatoes mashed into little cakes that you fry, its really tasty :]

It’s been too long!

Hello again, its been way too long since I last wrote. Work has been consuming me from day to night these last couple of weeks so i havent had time to come up with things to post, tho theres been plenty of things happening. I feel Im on a great creative streak right now. These last weekes Ive learned a bit of css since I started modifying blogg templates and redesigning them. A great way for us noobs to understand and learn basic css!

I’ll promiss to keep posting more from now on, Ive got plenty of things in store to show. For now I’ll show you these pretty photos i took weekes ago when the weather in Stockholm was still pretty. Now its cold and raining outside :/, the sun better come out for me and my boyfriends vacation. I need to get some sunshine on me, dont think the constant light from my lap-screen is doing me any good ^^.
